Launch of Clean Electricity ITC natural gas energy system intake portal

Please see correspondence below from the CRA regarding the clean energy intake portal:

The Clean Electricity Investment Tax Credit (ITC) is the most recently enacted Investment Tax Credit administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). The credit encourages qualifying entities to invest capital in eligible clean electricity property in Canada.

In the case of qualified natural gas energy equipment, NRCan must issue a qualified natural gas energy system evaluation before you can claim the tax credit. For more information, visit the Submitting your natural gas energy system plan and Your reporting responsibilities webpages.

NRCan has launched a new secure portal for you to submit your natural gas energy system plan to claim the credit. Once you complete a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) or equivalent study for your project, use the portal to begin the system plan submission process.

Please note that it is your responsibility to take your system size, complexity, and filing deadlines into consideration when submitting your system plan. After you submit your system plan through the portal, it may take up to three months before NRCan begins engaging with you on your submission.

If you have any questions, reach out to the NRCan’s ITC-CE-Natural Gas Power inbox, itc_ce_naturalgaspower-cii_ep_electriciteaugaznaturel@nrcan-rncan.gc.ca
